The East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) is collecting inspirational true human-interest stories to publish in a fundraising book.
 
Thank you for requesting guidelines and details of how to submit your story for consideration for this EAAA book.
 
INTRODUCTION
Have you had an extraordinary experience that made you see things differently? Perhaps it caused you to re-think your values or your ambitions. Maybe it was heart-warming or life-changing. It could be a moment of insight, resilience, kindness or positive action.
 
Life rarely follows a smooth path. One moment everything feels secure; the next, it can unravel without warning. We all encounter ups and downs, loss, disappointment, heartbreak or moments of deep uncertainty. Yet what enables us to move forward is the quiet force of hope and the resilience we carry within.
 
We are looking for stories that relate to such moments. They should be genuine, uplifting and leave the reader with a good feeling.
 
This EAAA book will bring together such true stories of courage, recovery and renewal. Some will raise a smile or prompt laughter; others may move the reader to tears. At their heart, these anecdotes reveal how real people have confronted difficulty or hardship and found ways through it, offering a roadmap when challenges feel overwhelming. They celebrate the remarkable capacity for the human spirit to endure, adapt and uncover previously hidden strengths.
 
Here is your opportunity to pass on your tale to inspire others, and be part of the East Anglian Air Ambulance’s book of moving stories.
 
You will not receive payment if your story is selected for inclusion in this book, but you will be supporting EAAA, and in so doing, you will help save lives. You will also be able to say you are a published author. And you will receive a digital copy of the book which you can duplicate and use as you wish.

A.        Story Guidelines
Guidelines for stories submitted for possible inclusion in the charity fundraising book being created in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) are:
 
– Preferred length:
200 – 1,000 words

– Format:
Please fill in the form on this page, alternatively submit by email to eaaabook@gmail.com as a Word document doc or docx Don’t forget to put your name and email address on the Word document

– Tone of stories:
Authentic, reflective and heartfelt. If you wish, please use words that convey vivid images and emotions

– Original:
Stories should be genuine and not produced with AI

– Focus:
Personal life experiences

– Perspective:
Written in the first person (I, me, my)

– Structure:
Stories will normally have a beginning, middle and end, but you might like to draw the reader in by using a powerful first paragraph or perhaps end with a dramatic or unforeseen finish

– Deadline for submission:
31 May 2026

By submitting your story for possible inclusion in the EAAA fundraising book, you confirm that:
– It is your own original work and AI was not used
– You hold full copyright
– No third party holds rights over any part of the text.
 
 
C.        Copyright and Permission
By signing below, you confirm:
You grant the EAAA and the editor the right to:
– edit the story for clarity, length or readability;
– publish the story in print, e-book, website or promotional materials;
– use your story for ongoing fundraising and publicity.

You retain full copyright.
This permission is royalty-free, worldwide and permanent.
You have not submitted this story for publication elsewhere.
